Spring Equinox Speakerbox

The mission of the hive artist collective falls under these five principals, Practice art, Master Art, Share Knowledge, Build Community and Grow food. We are hosting a Spring Equinox event and teaming up with Spiral Gardens. The mission of Spiral Gardens is to create healthy sustainable communities by promoting a strong local food system and encouraging productive use of urban soil. The Community Farm provides direct access to land and the skills necessary to develop a self-sufficient life in an urban environment. Given access to land, information, and tools, people can feed themselves and their communities or supplement their diets with the highest quality organic food with very little capital input. This event is set up to get the community and you involved with the process of learning how to work with the earth and understanding the importance of growing your own food, and having just a good old time being around great people. The event will be Saturday March 24th from 11am to 5pm. activities include

·      Bio Remediation Class Taught by (Sabrina Davidson)
·      Free line Skate Lessons
·      Face Painting
·      Vegetable Cookout
·      Gardening Tips
·      Music & Performances
·      Chalk Street Art
·      Planting Spring Crops
·      Starting Plants for Season Seeding Demo

With the success of this event we are looking to help the people in the community around spiral gardens and to reach out to help communities just like this one all over the bay area. Food security is an important issue that we are facing, be apart of something great and come and have a great time while doing it.
